The Robin Boyd Foundation promotes design awareness, design literacy and design advocacy and continues the work and spirit of Robin Boyd, an iconic figure in Australian architecture and design. The RBF publicly launched the The Boyd Collection™ of furniture last night at the NGV in Melbourne.
The collection is based on the original furniture designs by Robin Boyd and has been brought to the market for the first time. The furniture is manufactured in Melbourne using Australian hardwoods and Australian wool fabrics. In 1958, when Robin Boyd designed 290 Walsh Street, South Yarra, the house was furnished with pieces designed by Boyd himself. Each piece of the collection has been faithfully produced to the same specifications, materials and functional solutions of Robin Boyd’s originals. Proceeds from the sale of pieces within the The Boyd Collection of furniture will be donated to the Foundation.
Watermark is a supporter of the Robin Boyd Foundation and provides pro bono IP services. Amanda Jones, Joy Atacador and Linda Xie were at the NGV to celebrate the launch of The Boyd Collection of furniture.
