Successful federal court action
We successfully advised a components manufacturer to the telecommunications industry to appeal to the Federal Court on a trade mark decision.

We represented a NASDAQ listed company with over 20,000 US and foreign issued patents and patent applications. Our client’s focus was research and development on the core functions surrounding wireless technology, from devices to infrastructure.
Effective appeal to Federal Court
We were instrumental in a landmark appeal to the Federal Court of Australia from the decision of a Delegate of the Commissioner of Patents concerning computer-implemented inventions. We also executed a subsequent appeal to the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia and application for special leave to appeal to the High Court of Australia.

Protecting trade marks
We successfully represented a global telecommunication company. Our role included reviewing prior art raised in examiner’s reports on patent applications, preparing draft arguments around novelty, inventive step objections and suggesting claim amendments where necessary, and reviewing detailed submissions supporting novelty and inventive step objections. We also assisted the client with infringement and registratation advice to the client’s trade marks’ department and successfully prosecuted trade mark applications in Australia
