Carla Cher, a Patent and Trade Marks Attorney at Watermark’s Melbourne Office, was recently elected as a National Councillor (equivalent to a Board position) of Engineers Australia for 2013-2014.
Carla’s involvement with Engineers Australia began as a committee member of the Young Engineers Australia (YEA) group in Victoria over 15 years ago when undertaking her engineering degree at Melbourne University. Her engineering expertise and interest includes renewable energy, biomedical devices and microfluidics which stems from her engineering Masters in micro and nanotechnology.
Carla has been actively involved in Engineers Australia since her university days including being elected as YEA Victorian President in 2005, YEA National President in 2010 and most recently the YEA delegate to Congress (the advisory panel to the Engineers Australia Board) for 2011-2012. Carla has also been invited on many occasions to be part of the judging panel for the Innovation category of the Victorian Engineering Excellence Awards.
Carla is one of the youngest members, and the first Patent and Trade Marks Attorney, to be elected as a National Councillor. Watermark congratulates her on this wonderful achievement.
