Seminar: IP & Innovation: challenge presented by open collaboration. 27 Mar 2018 (VIC)

In partnership with the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia, Watermark is presenting “IP & Innovation: challenge presented by open collaboration”.

As Australian government policy settings on innovation continue to actively promote collaboration between the corporate sector and Australia’s academic and institutional research sector, what issues will come to the fore in ensuring the success of these relationships and how can an organization ensure that it gets maximum value from these “open collaborations”?

Drawing on experience and actual situation, this seminar will address the following key issues through a primarily IP lens:

  • Models of collaborations
  • Ownership of Intellectual Property
  • Background Intellectual Property
  • Pre-collaboration preparation
  • People Management
  • Exploitation of the outcomes
  • Exit, Termination and Winding Up

Participants will be able to “red flag” risks in entering open collaboration arrangements as a consequence of attending this seminar.

In-house lawyers are invited to participate in this seminar. Eligible participants will receive 1 CPD point for practice management and business skills/legal skills or practice.
