 Richard is a registered Patent and Trade Mark Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and was awarded the 1991 Institute of Patent Attorneys of Australia prize for the best performance in the qualifying examination.

Prior to joining Watermark, Richard was employed in the Research and Development department of a major multinational resources company giving him practical experience of new product and process development.

Richard is interested in the fields of general engineering and chemical engineering. He has experience and expertise in a broad range of technologies, including petroleum engineering, polymer process engineering, mineral extraction and processing, water treatment and engine management systems. His clients include multinational corporations and significant Australian technology companies.

Richard is the firm's coordinator for IP matters in the Americas, is a Councillor of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys and is active in the WA branch of the Intellectual Property Society.
