Grant has a Bachelor of Science with Honors (Pure Chemistry) and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He has held two Post-Doctoral positions in the US and Europe working in the fields of transition metal chemistry and organometallic chemistry. Subsequently, he worked for almost twenty years in the petrochemical industry for Dow Chemical and BP Chemicals in both Europe and the US. He has worked on a range of fundamental and applied research and development projects principally in the areas of catalysis and polymers. He has a strong commercial acumen coupled with a background in IP, particularly in competitive analysis and intellectual asset management. Grant has over thirty publications in refereed journals and is an inventor on over twenty issued patents.
