Geordie is a Patent & Trade mark Attorney and a member of both Watermark's Biosciences and Chemical Technologies group, and Watermark Intellectual Property Lawyers.
Prior to joining Watermark, Geordie was employed with a nanotechnology laboratory where he utilised spectroscopic and electron microscopy techniques to synthesise and analyse coated metal nanoparticles. After completing an honours thesis on the Synthesis and Optoelectronics of Tin Dioxide Encapsulated Gold Nanoparticles. he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Watermark, Geordie gained commercial experience with a global management and technology consulting company. More recently, he completed a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Geordie has a particular interest in the drafting, prosecution and management of nanotechnology patents. He has also gained experience prosecuting patents for global leaders in the chemical, agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries.
In the trade marks arena, Geordie is experienced in availability searching, prosecution, opposition and competitor surveillance procedures. He enjoys assisting Australia's largest exporter of processed food in protecting and managing its trade marks, both in Australia and overseas.
