 Carol has a Bachelor of Science (Biology - molecular biology stream/Biotechnology double major) with Honours from Murdoch University. Working with the Rumen Biotech research group, she undertook research as part of honours project and continued with the same research group for a period thereafter , to successfully create a working bioassay using enzymes extracted from recombinant bacteria for the purpose of detecting fluoroacetate (compound 1080) in biological samples in field operations.
During her university studies, Carol gained a broad spectrum of knowledge in a range of biotech and biological disciplines, from immunology, microbiology, molecular biology and bioprocessing.
Prior to joining Watermark in 2006, Carol gained experience working as a technical assistant having primary responsibility for managing a large portfolio of clients and their IP matters in a wide range of technologies, from patent drafting and prosecution (both in Australia and overseas); trade mark prosecution (Australia and overseas) and disputes, including running oppositions; and design prosecution, and acting on behalf of clients in relation to infringement matters
