“Like many people in the profession, I more or less fell into IP. Having qualified with a degree in Mechanical Engineering I was looking around for a suitable career to use my skills. I answered an ad for an engineer to train as an attorney and the rest, as they say, is history. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical).

My work interests lie In trade marks, automotive engineering, medical equipment, packaging and in engineering in the agricultural and horticultural industries. I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have been registered as an Australian Patent and Trade Mark Attorney since 1977. I am also registered as a New Zealand Patent Attorney.

I take a very thorough approach to providing advice to clients and enjoy the challenge of complex patent and trade mark matters.

I have a particular interest in trade marks and enjoy passing on what I’ve learnt over the years in the application of trade mark law to our new trainees.
