Shriraj Takle considers all risks and possibilities and stays focused on the end result.

“You have to make sure you have the resources you need, and the perseverance and determination to complete the journey. I learnt that lesson rock climbing and hiking and it applies just as well to the process of developing innovation from a concept into a viable commercial product.”

I AM: Able to focus on the commercial possibilities

Title: IP Professional.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Business Management

When I decided to join the IP profession, Watermark was a logical choice for me. The firm’s strategic focus on commercial outcomes for their clients fits well with my real-world philosophy on technology development. My family runs a machinery manufacturing business and from an early age I have had a practical understanding of the imperative for innovation to earn its keep. I went on to study both mechanical engineering and business management supporting my interest in bringing technical applications successfully into the marketplace.

In my final year of study I worked on a project to design an all-terrain vehicle for use in mine exploration and recovery applications with a new type of suspension system winning the best final year project prize. I spent my internship in Switzerland working with Packsys Global as a trainee engineer in the design department.

I’m looking forward to the challenge of working with Australia’s best innovators to help develop their ideas into profitable working products.
