My legal practice focuses on the negotiation and drafting of agreements relating to intellectual property such as trade mark and technology licences, franchise agreements, collaborative research and development agreements and secrecy agreements.

My trade mark practice encompasses all aspects of trade mark law, including portfolio management, clearance searches, registration, opposition and general advice.

I hold degrees in both law and science from the University of Melbourne and am a registered trade marks attorney. Since 2000 I have been subject coordinator and lecturer for the University’s post-graduate subject Licensing Law and Technology Transfer.

Before joining Watermark, I worked in the intellectual property department of a major law firm and a patent attorney firm, and as in-house Intellectual Property Advisor for global resources company BHP.

In 2011, Peter was named one of Intellectual Asset Magazine’s IAM Top 250 Patent and Technology Licensing Lawyers for 2011/2012. Peter was also named one of Australia’s outstanding trade mark practitioners in the 9th edition (2012) of Euromoney’s “Guide to the World’s Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners”.
