I worked as a researcher in medical immunology in a university professorial unit of a large Sydney hospital followed by several years as a scientific officer in pathology (haematology, biochemistry and microbiology) units in three large Sydney hospitals before qualifying as a lawyer and then as a patent and trade marks attorney.

I have had many years of experience in prosecuting and advising on chemical and biological patent applications and in defending and opposing the grant of patent applications in opposition proceedings before IP Australia. I have also enjoyed working on Federal Court appeals in both patent and trade mark matters.
