Hold it right there! Jeremy Robinson focuses on a creative approach to solving clients’ problems.

“I really enjoy using my brain. Tackling a problem without even knowing if it’s solvable, looking at all the angles and finally coming up with a solution really motivates me. The IP profession gives me the constant buzz of working on new things with creative people and going where nobody else has been before. How can you not love that?”

I AM: Passionate about new technology.

Title: IP Professional

Qualifications: Masters of Science (Physics)

I graduated with a Masters in Physics from Victoria University in Wellington and worked for an IP firm in Wellington for two years before I moved to Australia to join Watermark. My university research project centred on nuclear magnetic resonance technology working closely with a company called Magritech. After my honors year I worked with them on 2D COSY, an MRI related technology which uses the magnetic field of the earth. Of course, in reality the earth’s field changes, presenting problems in taking the concept to a practical working model. I was tasked with making it work in the earth’s field, writing the software and setting up the experiment and finally got it to work perfectly. The Hallelujah moment for me was in understanding the challenges of taking scientific theory into practical, real world solutions. I’ve brought that understanding to my work in IP.
