Is IP always smooth sailing? No, but with Ian Lindsay on your team you’ll be on the right tack.

“I love learning about new technologies so being a patent attorney is the perfect career for me. When I’m not drafting patent applications I’m sailing or playing soccer. Or checking out how my team in Scotland is doing without me there to support them. Go Aberdeen!”

I AM: a problem solver

Title: UK and European Patent and Trade Marks Attorney

Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical - Joint Honours), Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law

My technical background is in electrical and mechanical engineering and, as such, I have a keen interest in mechatronic systems. I also have an in depth knowledge of computer systems (networking protocols, programming etc.) and telecommunications (cellular circuit switched and packet switched networks) whilst also understanding mechanical “technical” drawings and other typically mechanical subjects such as fluid mechanics and dynamics. My patent work has also lead to a keen interest in optics (optical networking, optical security features, camera optics, etc.) and other more typically physic-based technologies, such as x-ray metrology.
